My IT career began in 2003 as a computer technician at my dad’s company. After taking IT certification classes in 2004, I pursued a major in Network Security at ECPI. Since joining InMotion Hosting in 2006, I started as a Tier 1 technical support rep and worked my way up to become the manager of the Tier 3 Operations department, the highest level technical department in the company.
My IT career started around 2003, when I took on a minor role as a computer technician at my dad’s company. In 2004, during my senior year of high school, I took several IT certification classes at a local college, and eventually went on to enroll ECPI with a major in Network Security. I got my first real gig in 2006 when I started working for InMotion Hosting, where I have remained ever since. I began as a Tier 1 technical support rep wearing several hats. At the time I had no experience with Linux or any sort of programming, so I worked hard to learn everything I could. Over time my career progressed, and I’m now the manager of the Tier 3 Operations department, which is the highest level technical department in the company.
In 2009, I started an IT consulting business to offer my expertise to other companies and continue to grow my skills and experience. Nowadays, I support over 100 clients across various platforms. My services are also utilized by several government agencies, specifically for assistance in investigating credit card fraud and other cyber crimes, obtaining PCI and other security compliance, and training teams on cyberforensics and security protocols. Not to mention of course, maintaining thousands of Linux servers across the globe
True to my career roots, I'm an expert in Linux server administration. I have 15 years of experience with setting up, managing, and securing Linux servers, and am well-versed in the web hosting industry.
With a strong background in cyber security and forensics, I've worked with dozens of companies in helping them track down and resolve security issues, obtain compliance, and investigate credit card fraud and other cyber crimes.
I've spoken at a number of conferences and trade show events, and have extensive knowledge in various aspects of the IT industry that I love to teach. Part of my role with various companies is developing and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation and training material.
Taking an idea or concept and forming it into a completed product has been a vital skill in developing solutions and platforms for my clients. I have experience with both large-scale and the tiniest of projects, as well as managing technical and product teams to obtain the best results, while keeping morale high and costs low.
